<>How to Pack your Helios into the Folding Bike Softcase
<>
<>Above is the picture of the softcase in its collapsed form. On the right is a protective shield we made out of cardboard and tape. By designing it as an oregami type shield (see red lines), you can fold it compact when your done (see below).

Protective case unfolded inside the softcase.

Packing requires some disassembly. Remove both wheels, pedals, seatpost, sliding stem and bar.

Unbolt the lower leg of the rack and fold. It works best with the Dahon steel rack as the legs are foldeable. If you have a regular rack, you may have to remove rack from all points of attachment.

<>Now fold the frame making sure the fork goes lengthwise for a narrower fold.
<>

<>To make sure the chain does not fall off, get twisted to a point where it can't be assembled without breaking the chain - secure it to the the chainring using a string, bungee cord etc.

<>Also protect your frame latching mechanism. If you don't have the plastic cover that came with the bike, you can improvise and use a tennis ball, crumpled newspaper, etc. Use your imagination.
<>
<>Now dump the frame into the case.

Next goes the rear wheel with the cassette facing the frame. The front wheel then goes on the outside. Stem and seatpost then goes on top of the frame
<>ut your wheel quick releases and pedal in a bag and secure to the frame. With the new post 9/11 airline security rules, we suggest securing the frame, wheels, seatpost and bars together with bungee cords. We also suggest protecting the folding stem pivot (tennis ball with a slit, crumpled paper etc.)

<>Unfold all the flaps to protect the bike at all sides.

That's it !. You've got your bike packed and protected even in a softcase 再来个携带的样子[em07]
希望版主能将我发的两个装车的贴置顶啊,对车友外出旅游帮助很大哦。 |
